Software Technology, Process and People (STPP) Inc. is a mentoring and consulting company specializing in the institutionalization of disciplined software engineering practices at the individual and team levels.

Our mission is to increase the competitiveness of companies by improving the quality and productivity of their software development practices.

Our areas of expertise include methodologies, risk management, process (from the Personal Software Process (PSP) to the Capability Maturity Model (CMM) and risk assessments), and the psychological aspects of change management.

In January 1997, the prestigious Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University and STPP signed a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) to commercialize the PSP. This cooperation was expanded in 2001 to include Team Software Process. STPP is an SEI transition partner for PSP/TSP. STPP Inc. president Dan Roy is still a visiting scientist at SEI.

We often call on former SEI and NASA colleagues to offer the best team for our client’s needs. With a customer base spanning 9 countries, we also work with various world class software engineering institutes such as the Centre de Recherche Informatique de Montréal (CRIM), the Norwegian Computing Center (NR), the Swedish Institute for Systems Development (SISU), the Institut d’Ingénierie International in Paris, the Centro Internacional de Technologica de Software (CITS) in Brazil, and the European Software Institute (ESI) in Spain.

In the U.S. we work closely with Process Enhancement Partners Inc. (PEP) and with Eirenicon for multi-national work.

Avantare (Mexico D.F.) is our partner in the USM.
