Most conflicts on (as well as off) the job have their origin in differences in personalities.

Building on the work of Swiss psychologist Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1961), two outstanding researchers Katharine Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myers developed and validated over 30 years a remarkable instrument to better understand differing personality types. This instrument, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), is now in widespread use in industry, all over the world.

This one day highly practical seminar will:

make you understand the MBTI and its applications

illustrate personality differences with fun-filled group exercises

show you how MBTI can be used to help everyone improve their interpersonal skills

help you better deal with cultural differences

The seminar includes the determination of your psychological type (you will have to set aside 40 minutes at home to fill up a questionnaire) and your personal copy of the best seller “Type talk at work” by Otto Kroeger and Janet Thuesen.

Who will benefit?

This MBTI seminar  is designed for those who directly interact with other human beings including significant other, children, programmers, managers, support personnel, HR specialists, and any other.

Even though some emphasis will be put on facilitating communication within software development teams, all are encouraged to attend. Programming skills are not a pre-requisite (on the contrary?)

Seminar topics

The course includes short lectures, group exercises, and a video tape presentation covering the following topics:

The origins of MBTI

MBTI principles (energy, information gathering, decision making, life orientation)

Keirsey & Bates “four temperaments”

MBTI ethics

Using MBTI on the job
